City of Modesto, CA – Indoor Activities During Hot Months
It seems like just yesterday temperatures were nice and cool but now Summer has given us its hottest month, August. This means it’s time to start putting together activities to keep the
kids occupied while also keeping them cool indoors.
We always try to mix it up with arts and crafts, physical activities and day-trips. Although the kids enjoy arts and crafts and the sports camps we sign them up for, they seem to like the day trips the most.
Some of our favorite day trips have been those to the beach and amusement parks. When we talk about amusement parks, most people think about Disneyland. Every year we’ve had annual passes to Disneyland but the prices seem to go up every time we get them. Given the economic environment that just can’t seem to get its footing, it’s just gotten too expensive for us. As much as we’d like to go, the cost of the tickets, gas and food is just too much for a single day. It actually can approach the cost of a regular,week-long vacation.
We’ve learned though that there are amusement park alternatives that won’t break the bank while also providing just as much fun for the kids and conveniences for us adults.
John’s Incredible Pizza is located in Modesto, CA though there are many other locations if you’re outside the Modesto area. John’s is a complete indoor amusement park on one side of the facility and an all-you-can-eat buffet on the other side. What better combo could there be?
Personally, I love the video games on the fun activity side and the wide-ranging pizza selection on the other side, though I’ve also been known to stuff myself with the salad and pasta bar. The kids simply love everything, it’s just a great and fun environment for them that can easily eat up an entire day.
Here’s a few more things we love about John’s Pizza:
1. All-you-can-eat-buffet of pizza, pasta, salad, dessert and fountain drinks
2. They offer beer and wine at an additional charge (2 drink max)
3. Multiple themed rooms that will take care of any mood you may be in
4. Rides, fun and games that are relevant for very young ones all the way up do adults
5. Super easy parking, love this one!
If you’ve never been to a John’s Incredible Pizza, just read the reviews and you’ll have a very good idea of what to expect.

The Twister
For 2010 Fourth of July falls on a Sunday. There is great information about the celebration that comes directly from the Modesto City websites or Modesto Bee.
Given the Fourth is on a Sunday, you still have Friday and Saturday to pack in more fun time for the kids. We recommend going to John’s Incredible Pizza in Modesto as we’ve been there for multiple events.
There are many places in Modesto and the surrounding area to have fun. You can go outdoors, or take refuge from the summer heat and find a venue indoors. Everything we need for a fun day out with the kids, from food and beverages to games and rides is located within this large air-conditioned facility. John’s is known for their variety of unusual and classic pizza offerings – like macaroni and cheese pizza – but they also carry a fresh salad bar, different pastas and sauces. Fill up with the beverage of your choice and find one of the many themed rooms that suits your mood and a reasonably priced meal. Our kids like the cartoon room (Toon Time Theater), but sometimes we sit and watch music videos in the Retreat room, or find some quiet time in the Cabin Fever room. My personal favorite is the sports themed room.
If your kids are like ours, they won’t want to sit and eat for long. Fortunately, you can come back anytime and as often as you want for food, including a yummy dessert section that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
The rides and games section of John’s Pizza is just as incredible as the food. Our older two kids are quite daring and love the theme park-style rides. Another favorite is the bumper cars. There is a height requirement for this one. If your kids aren’t quite ready for these types of rides, John’s has a section especially for the younger ones and even a baby and toddler section. The last time we visited John’s we tried out Glow Golf. This is an indoor miniature golf course with an under the sea theme all in Day-Glo paint, blacklighting and high energy music. We had a blast and stayed cool, too.
Here are a few of the things we really like about John’s and why it’s a great option for your holiday event:
-The all-you-can-eat buffet of pizza, pasta, salad, dessert and drinks
-Indoor rides fun for any age
-Themed rooms to suit any mood
Remember this 4th of July to include John’s Incredible Pizza in your plans!

All-You-Can-Eat
Summer is packed with fun things to do for the kids. The holidays tend to be the most fun over the Summer starting with Memorial Day and ending with Labor Day with celebrations for Mother’s and Father’s Day in there and of course the 4th of July.
4th of July this year is on a Sunday, which works out perfectly to plan a fun weekend for the family. Many families though, will keep their travel plans close to home due to the general condition of the economy and of course, the high cost of gas. So where’s the best place to go in Modesto to celebrate the 4th of July with the kids?
We suggest the John’s Pizza as an addition to your planned cookout and city fireworks. John’s has something to offer everyone and at a reasonable price.
In our most recent trip to John’s Pizza, the temperature was hovering around 107 degrees. John’s is completely indoors, perfect for these hot days, or even the cloudy and rainy ones.
Here’s what else we like about John’s Incredible Pizza in Modesto:
-The buffet is all-you-can-eat style and includes many flavors of pizza, salad, a full dessert bar, and a separate fountain drink section. If you’re in the mood for a couple of drinks, they offer that too but the cost is extra and their is a 2 drink maximum.
-John’s offers themed dining rooms for whatever mood you’re in. Our kids like to watch cartoons but I typically sneak over to watch sports in my favorite room. My wife’s favorite is the room with music videos, fortunately they are all close together!
-The games and indoor rides are simply incredible. John’s is like an indoor amusement park where kids and adults can have fun. Many of the games dispense tickets that can be used in trade for cool toys and other items. Our kids LOVE getting the tickets but even more fun for them is sticking them in the ticket-eaters!
-The fun part for us parents is the price, which is completely reasonable for what you get plus it’s a nice alternative to expensive activities like Disneyland.
This 4th of July after your cookout and fireworks, head over to John’s Incredible Pizza in Modesto. For our family it has been a perfect alternative to a very expensive vacation where the kids and parents can have a great time while saving money.

Search engine placement has changed drastically since our case study with Google in 2004. The problem with the vast majority of marketing is that it is not only too expensive but it also doesn't work. Our methods are radically different, an avant-garde approach that not only brings business to our vendors but also eliminates the confusion of on-line search results.
