Fun Things To Do And Easter Activities For The Kids – Modesto, California
Spring Break 2010, Modesto, CA

John's Pizza
Spring break is almost here and not a moment too soon! When the kids get older they can consider their fun in the sun trips with their friends but for now they’re stuck with us parents for a full week at the house.
Easter Sunday is easy, lots of events for that day so it’s consumed rather easily. It’s the rest of the off-week that we worry about the most particularly given the nasty weather we’ve had lately. What are we supposed to do when it’s constantly raining and windy during this El Nino season?
Well, a recent birthday party invite gave us a great idea. Our eight year old daughter was invited to a birthday party at John’s Incredible Pizza in Modesto, California. We had heard about John’s before but had no idea what this place was going to be like. WOW, we were surprised.
Most party places have some sort of party room but these were awesome, totally private while providing a great view of the fun outside (without the noise and interruption). Apparently they offer private rooms for corporate functions too but we haven’t tried that one yet.
The party went great, the fun outside went even better. John’s is an indoor amusement park with real rides, games and other attractions to keep you and the kids busy for at least a half day. They also have ticket-dispensing games that the kids go nuts for, very addictive, even I loved it!
The food was simply brilliant for this type of event. All-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and salad bar along with separate dessert bar. The all-you-can-drink fountain is extra but not by much and you can even buy a couple of beers or glasses of wine (2 drink limit).
So the venue is simply fantastic for parties but also for all around fun, particularly when the weather is not so great. Beyond all the fun, the price is totally reasonable for what you get (including ease of parking). A trip to Disneyland is simply out of the question so John’s it is this Easter holiday!

John's Pizza
Where are you going this Easter break? For us, we plan to stay in town as we have for quite some time. Supposedly we are pulling out of this years long recession but one would never know from how tight money is. Maybe the economic indicators are going in the right direction but it will be some time before employment improves and more cash is available for everyone. Until then, we’ll be searching for reasonably priced fun for the kids.
Up and coming is the week long Easter break, one of my favorites as it signals the beginning of Spring and hopefully the end of this El Nino season. It seems like every week we’ve had about 3-4 days of rain and if it’s not that, it’s cold weather and wind. Of course, necessity is the mother of all invention so we had to find a place where we could take the kids indoors.
Fortunately, we were introduced to John’s Incredible Pizza in Fresno some time ago for a kid’s birthday party. Now this was actually a pretty cool setup, better than what I’ve seen at competing bounce houses, play places and expensive arts and crafts stores. John’s offers a separate party room for balloons, cake and presents. This is nothing special in itself as most places make this type of offering but it’s what’s outside the party room that really took us by surprise.
John’s Pizza is a giant indoor amusement park with real rides, games and other activities that can keep your group busy for at least half-a-day if not a full day. Beyond the awesome rides and games John’s offers an all-you-can-eat style buffet. This buffet includes many pizza options, pasta, salad and even a dessert bar that our kids would like to visit first. Fountain drinks are also all-you-can-drink for an extra charge but it’s completely reasonable given the offerings. If you’re in the mood for a beer or glass of wine, they offer that too but it’s at a per-drink cost and there’s a 2 drink maximum given John’s is a family-oriented place.
When you head off to eat your full plate of goodies, John’s offers numerous themed dining areas. Our favorite is the cartoon themed room as it continues to keep the kids busy.
We think John’s is a great option this Easter vacation at least for a day or two. If you need a break from the weather and the kids need a break from the cabin, give John’s Incredible Pizza a try!
Having Fun in Buena Park, CA this Easter Break!

Indoor Fun Activities Buena Park, CA
The weather in California has been unbelievable this year! Moving to California about 18 years ago, I haven’t experienced many El Nino years but know for sure that this is one of them. The rain here is nothing like we had in the midwest. There we had thunderstorms that would leave as quickly as they came. Heavy rain rarely lasted longer than 15 minutes and consistent rain wasn’t really all that common.
California is very different. During this El Nino year we’ve had rainy weeks where you have to live inside for days on end. With kids, this is a daunting task particularly when a week long holiday is right around the corner, Easter.
Yes, Easter means Spring is here, unless it’s and El Nino season! So given this uncommon occurrence, we need to adjust our plans a bit to keep the kids happy. Yes, we’ll do all the standard Easter activities but on the other 6 days we need something a little different to eliminate the potential for cabin fever.
Our favorite indoor fun place in Buena Park has for a very long time been John’s Incredible Pizza. Don’t let the name fool you because John’s is much more than the pizza joint you’re probably thinking of, this is a massive indoor amusement park where the food is just as big an attraction.
Here are the main points about John’s Pizza if you’ve never been there:
1. Well, it’s all indoors. Given the current weather, that’s a big plus!
2. The food is all-you-can-eat and includes pizza, pasta, salad, dessert and drink bar. For an extra charge you can even have a beer or two (of course they have wine too).
3. Amusement park style rides that even you’ll enjoy
4. Enough things to do to keep everyone happy for a full day
5. Cost that is completely reasonable, particularly given the alternatives that are extremely expensive.
We first learned about John’s when we were invited for a kids birthday party and have since gone to many. We recently heard they also offer the facility for business meetings and even after hours events, haven’t tried these but looks like a great venue!
So this Easter when you and the kids are stuck at home due to the rain and wind, give John’s Incredible Pizza a try in Buena Park. We think you’ll love it!

Search engine placement has changed drastically since our case study with Google in 2004. The problem with the vast majority of marketing is that it is not only too expensive but it also doesn't work. Our methods are radically different, an avant-garde approach that not only brings business to our vendors but also eliminates the confusion of on-line search results.
